Googleaposs Limited Release of the Android SDK Makes Developers Unhappy Eflux Media

It looks like it is the first time when Google makes a decision that makes independent developers angry but it comes in a moment when the company needs their support more than ever. Google announced that it will release the latest Android Software Developers Kit to the winners of the Android Developers Challenge only. The company also said that all Android developers will eventually have access to the SDK but only after it has been tested and the company received feedback from the persons that will get to come in contact with it. The move as Google sees it might ensure that the first devices that will run the operating system will come with some useful and well developed applications. The company thinks that this would play a very important role in forming the perception that people will have about this OS. Some people have already rushed to accuse Google of violating one of the core principles of open source projects and that is the ability to let every developer discover w! hich line of code is faulty and then try to fix that problem or at least make it public and let others do the job. Some of the angry developers have already announced that they are considering to shift their products to other platforms like Symbian or iPhone. University of Michigan Health System researchers reported percent of those surveyed said a roommate was aware of his or her food allergy and two thirds of the students could verify that another person campus knew about his or her allergy. Less than half of those identifying themselves as food allergic percent could verify they carried emergency medicati! on to treat a reaction and about percent had self injectable epinephrine the recommended treatment for the life threatening severe allergic reaction called anaphylaxis. The researchers said the University of Michigan studies point to the need for students to increase the awareness of their food allergy among the people around them. He practically swirled. He did five things at once. He remembered names of people he d met just one time. His desk existed under a sea of papers and photos of his wife and three da! ughters. But ask him to find something specific he d snag it in a second. When things got tense he d open his office door and fling a Frisbee down the hall. He had an enthusiasm I don t know if anybody else in our business has said his colleague Lynda Bearce. Mr. Rashbaum a longtime radio executive who helped pioneer some of Tampa Bay s most popular stations died Tuesday. He was . Mr. Rashbaum didn t like to waste time. He was really smart and he knew how to get things done said his wife Beth Rashbaum. They met in college at the University of South Florida. They were . He was afraid to ask her out. She said yes she loved his silly sense of humor. Back then he wrote for the school newspaper the Oracle rising from reporter to entertainment editor to managing editor. After college he repeated the pattern at a small weekly paper reporter to editor in six weeks his wife said. He wrote music reviews for the St. Petersburg Times and explored a career in advertising television and ! radio. You know people just wanted to hire him said his wife. As a radio manager in the s he helped launch Tampa Bay stations including WSJT FM Smooth Jazz . and WHPT FM the Point . The radio community has lost a wonderful gentleman said Charlie Ochs market manager for CBS Radio in Tampa Bay. I don t know anyone who didn t absolutely love him. In Mr. Rashbaum noticed a lack of hip hop on the air. Teamed with a colleague he devised a plan they d launch a new station. DJs would pretend to broadcast from a boat. For a number of days people just kept looking out for these two guys on a boat said Mrs. Rashbaum. That station was WLLD FM known widely as Wild . . For six months he stopped swirling. He was unemployed relaxing with Bob Dylan Billy Joel Bruce Springsteen. Shortly after dreaming up Wild he was ousted under a management shift. He didn t panic. Friends wondered how he could stay calm but he knew something good would come. It did. He took a job in St. Petersburg with Radio Disney. He rose to become vice president of sales and marketing event! ually overseeing stations around the country. He worked hard but almost never on weekends or past p.m. That time was for his family. He dispensed advice readily to his daughters. On one vacation while everyone else sat around Mr. Rashbaum chased his youngest Hannah around the pool. He was always curious always wanted to lean more and see more said his wife. The two of them were always going off finding and exploring. He talked about his family all the time said Bearce. His three daughters are really special girls all different and he always told us great stories about each one. Many people don t survive an aortic aneurysm. Mr. Rashbaum made it into a cab and to the hospital. He called his wife. While away in San Francisco for business he underwent emergency surgery. His family flew out his older daughters from Spain and New York. He made it through surgery only to suffer strokes and a herniated brain stem. Doctors told his wife he had only minutes left. Scot Radel s family has filed lawsuits against three downtown St. Cloud bars saying the year old was served even though he was noticeably drunk. The lawsuits say Radel s drunkennes contributed to his drowning death in . An autopsy showed Radel s blood alcohol level was . percent. Authorities have said his death was an accident.
